PHOENIX (Nov. 2, 2009) — Doughnut Dan delivers more than doughnuts with his new 7,611-square-foot factory-style Krispy Kreme store, set to open Tuesday, Nov. 10 and located just south of 83d Avenue and Bell Road. In addition to being a doughnut lover’s dream complete with a new take on kid’s meals, Krispy Kreme historical signage and a theatre-style viewing of production, he is giving Arizonans the chance to win cash, doughnuts and coffee on opening day.

In honor of the store’s made from scratch doughnuts, the first 250 guests in line on opening day will receive a “Doughnut Dan Glazed Ticket” scratch off card for their chance to win prizes including FREE dozens, FREE coffee and doughnut, FREE beverages, etc. One lucky glazed ticket winner will receive a grand prize of $1,000 and a lifetime supply of doughnuts, and one second-place winner will receive $500 and a one-year supply of doughnuts.

Promising to be the West Valley’s newest family destination, the store will feature the traditional “Hot Doughnuts Now” sign that will illuminate when the store is making hot, fresh Original Glazed doughnuts as well as several features unique to Arizona at every turn.

“I want my customers to enjoy themselves as much as I do at this store,” said Doughnut Dan Brinton, Krispy Kreme Arizona franchisee. “So, from day one, we’re going to make their experience a memorable one.”

The fun begins outside where people can watch the processing station in action. From a large sidewalk window, guests will observe doughnuts being filled with jellies and creams and topped with powdered sugars and sprinkles. Once inside the store, a historic timeline of Krispy Kreme road signs and five “Hot Doughnuts Now” signs add to customers’ excitement as they approach the doughnut theatre where they’ll watch doughnuts glide down the production line.

Even ordering will be more entertaining with a new kids meal consisting of two doughnuts and a milk served on a souvenir Krispy Kreme Frisbee for just $3.99. Patrons can also order from the first-ever Krispy Kreme milk bar featuring Shamrock Farms milk. The orders will be zip-lined from the cash register to the milk bar where guests can choose a flavored milk or make their own creation using flavor mix-ins.

The store will also feature a kid’s area complete with a flat screen TV and Wii sports games. And, because Doughnt Dan wants to continually give back to the community, the store boasts a Krispy Kreme photo booth with 100 percent of its proceeds going to Homeward Bound.

“I firmly believe that the neighborhood doughnut shop should support the neighborhood. I’m delivering this on an ongoing basis with the photo booth, and will directly reward neighborhood customers grand opening day with my ‘Doughnut Dan Glazed Ticket’ scratch off instant winner cards,” said Brinton.

The new West Valley store’s doughnut-making machine is capable of producing more than 200 dozen made-from-scratch doughnuts an hour. The menu will offer 15 varieties of doughnuts, including Krispy Kreme’s signature Hot Original Glazed doughnut.

Krispy Kreme Arizona is helping the San Tan Major All-Star girls softball team in their journey to the Softball World Series by giving the team 500 partnership cards, which the team can sell at $12 each for a $6,000 profit.

MESA, ARIZ. (July 16, 2008)—Krispy Kreme Mesa is inviting Arizona to “Fill The Family Tank” on Thursday, July 24, National Drive-Thru Day. All day long, Arizona families can buy a dozen hot glazed or variety doughnuts for less than the price of a gallon of gas! Additionally, the first 100 drive-thru customers will receive a $5 gas card with their order.

“We drive too and wanted to do something to help offset the high fuel prices effect on our daily lives. Our National Drive-Thru Day celebration provides people with an expected savings of at least $3, leaving enough left over to help fill the car’s tank too,” said Dan Brinton, franchise partner of Krispy Kreme Mesa.

The Fill The Family Tank offer is good for a dozen original hot glazed doughnuts or a dozen variety doughnuts for drive-thru or in-store purchase. And, there is NO LIMIT to how many dozen an individual can purchase at the “Fill The Family Tank” rate.

The price for a dozen doughnuts will be set for less than the average cost of a gallon of gas according to AAA’s posted daily average on July 24, posted at http://www.fuelgaugereport.com/sbsavg.asp.
“Save the Family is a wonderful organization and I am proud to partner with them for our grand opening and beyond,” said Dan Brinton, Mesa Krispy Kreme franchise partner. “Our grand opening week is the perfect time to partner with a charitable organization because with the excitement we’ve already experienced about our opening, we should be able to bring in a large donation for Save the Family.”

Save the Family provides transitional housing and case management services to more than 300 families a year. With 160 housing units serving homeless families with children throughout the Valley, Save the Family is changing the face of homelessness one family at a time. Through programs like Career Development, Legal Assistance and domestic violence and parenting classes, clients in Save the Family’s program learn to become both economically and emotionally self-sufficient.

“We’re thrilled to be Krispy Kreme’s Grand Opening partner,” said Janice Parker, founding executive director for Save the Family. “Together we are supporting Save The Family’s goal of changing the face of homelessness one child at a time.”

In addition to the initial donation, Krispy Kreme offers several ongoing community fundraising opportunities tied to its family-favorite doughnuts and looks forward to continuing its relationship with Save the Family.
