DOUGHNUT DAN ANNOUNCES ARIZONA’S TWO-YEAR ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

April 30, 2010

May 13, 2010 marks the two-year anniversary of Krispy Kreme’s return to Arizona, and the milestone will be celebrated with a special two-year anniversary offer developed based on Krispy Kreme fan suggestions.

The two-year anniversary offer is $2 per dozen GLAZED ONLY (limit 2 per person while supplies last) all day on May 13, 2010. And, everyone in line by 5:30 a.m. when doors open will receive one 365-card good for a FREE coffee and FREE doughnut every day for a year, while supplies last.

Doughnut Dan is also encouraging everyone to pay their savings forward, by making a suggested $2 donation to Homeward Bound, who assists homeless and domestic violence families with children to achieve economic independence, secure long-term, safe, decent, affordable housing and break multi-generational cycles of homelessness and domestic violence.

“Fans overwhelmingly wanted the $2 dozen and also expressed time and again how much they enjoyed their 365-card and would like to see it back. But I was really touched and impressed at how many people also wanted to see the anniversary celebration benefit charity,” said Doughnut Dan Brinton, franchisee for Krispy Kreme Arizona.

FANS CHOOSE HOW TO CELEBRATE KRISPY KREME ARIZONA’S TWO-YEAR ANNIVERSARY

April 16, 2010

May 13, 2010 marks the two-year anniversary of Krispy Kreme’s return to Arizona, but how this milestone will be celebrated is largely in the hands of Krispy Kreme fans. Arizona franchisee “Doughnut Dan” Brinton credits his customers for his ability to open 11 stores within such a short timeframe and is requesting that they help determine the anniversary offer.

Krispy Kreme Arizona fans can email their suggestions for consideration to doughnutdan@krispykremeaz.com between April 16 and May 2.

“When it’s a kid’s birthday, you don’t typically tell him what he’s going to do to celebrate, you ask him what he’d like to do,” said Doughnut Dan. “So, I’d like to know what my customers would like to do to honor this day that they’ve helped make a reality.”

In the last two years, some of Doughnut Dan’s special offers have included a limited number of lifetime or year’s supply of doughnuts, scratch-off cards for random prizes, a FREE coffee and doughnut a day for a year cards, a FREE dozen in exchange for a donation to charity and a dozen doughnuts for the price of a gallon of gas, to name a few.

In addition to the to-be-determined anniversary offer/celebration, Doughnut Dan is also looking for two dozen recipients to give a personally delivered doughnut party at their location of choice on May 13. People are invited to email doughnutdan@krispykremeaz.com with their request, which must include contact information, where they want the doughnuts delivered, how many dozen they are requesting and why they think they should be one of the two dozen recipients (100 word maximum). Official rules are posted at www.krispykremeaz.com.

“I’m looking forward to celebrating this milestone with all of my friends, and can’t thank Arizona enough for giving me and Krispy Kreme the opportunity to be their neighborhood doughnut shop,” said Doughnut Dan Brinton.
